In 2009, Arash Homampour litigated and settled a motor vehicle collision case for $4 million in policy limits where a left turning driver struck Defendant’s vehicle causing it to collide with Plaintiff’s car. Plaintiff suffered minor orthopedic injuries but two years later required amputation of both legs.

Arash alleged and established that the Defendant was speeding and that the amputations were causally related to Plaintiff’s original injuries. Defendant contended he was not speeding, that the left turning driver was solely at fault and that Plaintiff’s amputations two years post incident were unrelated to the incident but the result of Plaintiff’s pre-existing medical conditions, poor lifestyle and health habits, excessive smoking, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease.

Nonetheless, the carrier knew that Arash would take the case to trial, that he had a reputation for getting large results on difficult cases and decided to settle for the full amount of its insurance coverage. More details on this verdict can be found here.
