A September 18th truck accident in Diamond Bar, which is just east of Los Angeles, resulted in injuries to nine transportation workers. The big-rig apparently veered off of State Route 60 at around 10:00 in the morning. The truck then struck a transportation truck parked on the side of the road which subsequently struck a van containing members of a clean-up crew. Apparently some other workers were that were standing by the van were also injured in the truck accident.
The California Highway Patrol investigated the accident. Besides the eight workers being hurt in the accident, the driver of the big rig also was injured. Apparently the truck driver had to be freed from the wreckage prior to his receiving medical treatment.
The Los Angeles area is one of the most heavily trafficked areas in America. Traffic on our freeways includes everything from motorcycles to big-rig trucks such as the one involved in this accident. With that in mind it's surprising that we do not have even more accidents on our roads.
Trucks are difficult to operate already without the driver having to negotiate through heavy traffic and construction zones. Truck drivers are often cut-off in traffic. The trucks also have a number of blind spots that can make it difficult for the driver to see others on the road.
As there can be so many different reasons for why a truck accident occurred, those injured may wish to speak to an experienced personal injury attorney to discover what their legal options are. Attorneys can reconstruct these sorts of accidents and otherwise investigate what occurred. Attorneys can also provide independent representation and make certain injured victims are fairly compensated.
